No.  If you have a Soundblaster Live card then you have what it takes to
transfer your cassettes to the computer.  You also need a sound editor, such
as Cdex or if you can afford it, Goldwave or Sound Forge.  I hear Goldwave
is cheaper but don't know the prices of these various sound editors.  I use
Cdex as it is a free download.  I don't remember the site where I got it,
but I think one site is
www.freefunfiles.com
I'm not sure, though.  A Google search might help you find it easily on a
number of different sites.

Although Cdex may be primitive and not have certain features such as noise
reduction, it is easy to use.  I don't know if they upgrade that software,
because the version I am currenntly using is 1.5.  I also have 1.3 on file
on one of my CD's, maybe several CD's.

Others on the list will be able to guide you.  Whatever sound editor you
use, I wissh you many happy hours of encoding your collection.  You can also
encode from vinyl if you have those old records lying around.
