Cindy, I am going to take a stab at your question. I am going to guess the option your talking about is after you have recorded A large file and are going to edit it. it may have a mark silence feature. I guess if you do have a 3 second pause on the album, it may split it into separate files, but it would have to be quiet. you couldn't have any turntable rumble. some person will be kind enough to give us deed back about your question.
