hi Roger!
The big thing with total recorder is to check the the recording source and parameters. If your trying to record from your mic or line use the sound board. If your recording from winamp real player or windows media, use the software option.
Also all other players must be closed or total recorder will say this sound card is in use.
To record tab over to the record and press the space bar. You may have to press the bar twice to get to the play mode. If there is anything to play t r will have a place for it as you tab through the options.
