*GENERAL INFORMATION*: Rate: $40/hr on C2C – Fixed Location: Fort Collins, CO Duration: 12 Months Job type: Contract Pay-terms: C2C/1099 Visa: Open Total experience: Preferably 10-15 years Title: Sr . Software Testing Specialist Role: Testing *CLIENT NOTES: * Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust (Min 5 years working in the US with no more than 6 months of travel outside of the US). *Position Description:* We are actively seeking a Senior Software Testing Specialist. The selected candidate must be knowledgeable and experienced as a Quality Assurance/Test Engineer for testing web-based and desktop applications, software engineering practices, quality assurance standards, interpretation of product requirements, test plan development, test case development, and testing of software functionality, performance, load, installation, and usability (508 compliance experience a plus). *JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * 1. Test plan and test case development; Test environment creation and configuration 2. Test server maintenance; Test report documentation. 3. Manual and automated testing of software functionality, installation, and regression; 4. Load and performance testing; Bug management and error tracking; and 5. Coordination and prioritization of testing activities and the ability to work with multiple development teams and software projects are also critical for the selected candidate. Candidate must have the ability to independently troubleshoot software and operating system level installation and configuration issues. *GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:* A minimum of eight years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience is required. Hands-on experience with creation of test plans, development and execution of test cases and reporting and dissemination of test results is a must. A Bachelors Degree--preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, similar discipline, or equivalent work experience is required. *Required Skills and Competencies: * 1. Experience with Quality Assurance practices and Testing Methodologies 2. Test Plan and Test Case Development based on software engineering documentation (testing based on product requirements) 3. Experience with executing functional, usability, and deployment testing 4. Experience with automated testing applications similar to Visual Studio or Rational Functional Tester. 5. Experience with formal testing of complex server-based software systems 6. Multi-tier computing environments including load balanced application (middleware) servers supported by back end database servers 7. Test execution experience in .NET/C# environment 8. Experience testing products developed within the Pega framework 9. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL scripting 10. Experience with reporting of test results 11. Experience with commercial bug management systems 12. Experience with leading a team of other tester personnel 13. Experience with creation and maintenance of test environments 14. Operating system management experience with Windows Server 2012 15. Experience with configuration of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 16. Experience with deployment of systems under test 17. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tool suite (including Visio) 18. Demonstrated Documentation and Reporting experience 19. Experience testing in an agile development environment 20. Document management system experience 21. Excellent analytical and problem determination skills 22. Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, databases, messaging, files systems, and other program objects. *Desired Skills: (GOOD TO HAVE)* 1. Microsoft Visual Studio 2. Microsoft C# and ASP.NET 3. Operating system management experience with Unix/Linux 4. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 5. .NET, Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience 6. Cross-browser DHTML web design and testing 7. JavaScript, HTML, XML, XSLT 8. VMware Server/Desktop Virtualization 9. Experience with the compliancy requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for web applications design. 10. Experience with source control management software, such as TortoiseSVN/Subversion 11. Experience using Microsoft Project 12. Working background in GIS technologies such as ESRI including ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcGIS 13. Scripting Proficiency (i.e. Cygwin, Dos, Bash, Perl, Python, and/or VBscript) 14.
