GSOC: Interested in submitting a proposal on GNU parallel

Hello,
I am Nagarjuna Kandimalla

 a Computer Science graduate student at the University of Missouri, Columbia. I 
recently came to know about Google Summer of Code and am interested in 
submitting a proposal on enhancements that can be made to GNU Parallel.
Before going into specifics, I would like to introduce myself. I am currently 
working as a Graduate Research Assistant under Prof. Tanu Malik 
(https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanu-malik-53513628) on Sciunit Parallel (a 
containerization tool that uses GNU Parallel to support parallel processes). 
So, I am very interested in working on this as it aligns well with my research.
Although Sciunit Parallel uses GNU Parallel, we have not yet implemented all of 
its features, which I am interested in exploring in my ongoing research. 
Working on GNU Parallel through GSOC will help me gain a deeper understanding 
of it, as well as complement my research.
I went through the list of GNU Operating System projects but did not find GNU 
Parallel listed. So, I wanted to know if there are any mentors who could 
support me through this process. I would be happy to submit a proposal if I can 
connect with a mentor willing to guide me on this.
