That API hasn't changed. I think you're looking at the documentation
for Palm OS Cobalt, a version of the OS that hasn't been released on
any devices.
If it resets on the Treo 650, get out a debugger and find out why.
The memory system changed to be a lot stricter on the new devices with
NVFS, so that's a likely cause of the problem.
