Not to my knowledge. I think you'd need to have a device driver installed (which is part of what happens when you install Palm Desktop). The exception to needing something pre-installed, to my knowledge, would be things like the drive mode on the Tungsten T5 or similar third-party software. But that is because it conforms to the specs for a removeable USB drive, so the device driver is already included in recent versions of Windows. That wouldn't get you an internet connection.
