Yep, data entry can be very slow. Sometimes there are other strategies you can use to minimise the amount of text entry. For instance, an application I designed once for sport coaches to assess player's technique at training let them pick from a dropdown list of problems (because usually there are only so many things that can go wrong). Sometimes it requires approaching a problem from a different direction.
