I've been oblivious to what's been going on, since I only do freeware. However, I would be quite concerned if there was a sudden change in business practice from a company. For example, if company X always paid you on time, but suddenly is falling behind by more than a month, I would be concerned that the company is in financial trouble.
If I stood to lose a lot, as a defensive measure, I might put only crippled or trial versions on such a site, and have the trialware direct customers straight to my own site, where we could do business for the full version. If sales were low, anyway, I might be willing to take the risk for those few copies that customers would pay the site, but I would never see the revenue. Either way, at least it would be a willful decision on my part. -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
