It is also a good idea to use manual functions to clear that back buffer. On my Palm Zire 71 i get 50% speed increase if i code my own clear routine in ASM and then use the standart routines to blit the back buffer to the screen (WinDrawBitmap).
Is WinDrawBitmap faster than WinCopyRectangle?
