There are calls provided by the VPN Shim to use timers, but
PalmOne 3.0 SDK documentation is a little thin and I am having
problems getting a timer to work. My questions are:

1). Does a timer fire once and then needs to be reset or does
it fire periodically based on the delay parameter (I
      assumed the first case).

2). The timer allocate function takes a parameter called
cookie, which I assume matches the global cookie the shim
can allocate and retain. As I read the documentation the
cookie is void * and you can allocate any structure you
desire. Why would the timer allocation code need the
cookie? Is it writing data to to cookie and potentially
colliding with my data structure, or is it extending the
cookie, reallocating it to hold additional timer
      information.

3). Since there is no user assigned data for the timer it
look like you can only have a single timer. Is this
      the case?

Thanks for any help you can shed on these questions,

Dave Koogler
