Just email it off list; unless it's too large. Sure, it's probably 'illegal', but it won't matter if he's actually allowed to have it (registered pdn, whatever). When you upload it to a website or file sharing site/btorrent, then you could get it trouble. Email prob isn't considered 'making available' the file.
