Yea, and then when someone comes on and asks one of these questions, we can
just rudely tell them "Read the FAQ".

Seriously, all of these topics are either in the Knowledge Base or in the
archives of the forum... if a person doesn't read that, what makes you think
they'll read a FAQ?

I, myself, have asked a couple of dumb questions here.. and that was after
being unable to find the answer in other sources. The problem wasn't not
reading those things, the problem was not knowing the right way to word the
question to get search results that were useful. A FAQ like you suggest
would be too large to just read all through all the questions (which is what
a FAQ is supposed to be), making as difficult to use as the Knowledge Base
if you don't know the question.
