EPEL support is planned and it will really make things easier for you in the
future. I think it's worth waiting, but can't block your package if you don't
want to.

I created the spec using go2rpm and with just a few tweaks (GO111MODULE
changes, using %gotest instead of %gocheck) you can see how much simpler the
spec is and it's based in a common template.

It still requires to define the license (don't have time for that now) and see
which tests are required to be skipped (docker dependencies for example), but
the basics are there.
