If you're querying crm_mon, Andrew pointed you in the right direction. Note that they aren't 1:1 reflected in the node_state section. Something like "unclean" in crm_mon is actually a result the PE computes from a number of other CIB inputs (resource state etc). You can't get that as a flag out of the CIB without invoking the PE.
