Dear origamists,
The Polish origami convention comes back after the pandemic break. The
19th Outdoor Origami Meeting (the 19th Polish Origami Convention aka
Plener Origami) will be held Friday June 9^th to Sunday June 11^th ,
2023 (with pre-folding session on Thursday June 8th evening). The
convention place is located in the center of Krakow (Old Podgorze
District), but still with some outdoor activities available. We hope
such arrangement will attract you to Krakow and we will host you
beginning of June.
*_Michał Kosmulski
<https://origami.kosmulski.org/>_*(origami.kosmulski.org)**is our
special guest. He is an origami artist of young generation, already
known for his tessellations and boxes. He writes also about origami in
his blog. He extensively researched Fujimoto works what resulted in a
great contribution to origami world, the Catalog of Fujimoto's Works
(CFW) as well as granting to public domain five books of Shuzo
Fujimoto.Hopefully both his own works and his research will be
inspiration for development of origami.
*Inspiration-dedication*is the leading topic of our convention. So we
are awaiting models showing what or who inspires your creative work. Say
us to who you dedicate your work and why this person or thing are
important. We welcome your comment explaining connection of your artwork
with others. Remember that good explanation may be key to understanding
your art (especially why it fits our leading theme).
And as usual we especially appreciate geometric models.
We plan to publish a *convention book* this year too. Would you be so
kind to send us a diagram of one of your creations related in some way
to the leading theme, to be printed in the convention book. The book
will be printed in ca. 150 copies and it will be sold to convention
participants (at special low price) and later (if any copies left
unsold). All proceeds from sale will cover the convention organization
cost. Every author will receive a free copy of the convention book.
Please send your diagram *till 15th of April* to the editor of the
convention book Halina (Haligami) Rosciszewska-Narloch [email protected]_
If you are able to attend, please bring your models for an exhibition.
The convention info and registration card will be available from March,
