Dear Gerardo.

for the past 50 years I too have been creating practical models. Yes, I
will be 94 on my next birthday
in June.

Look on You Tube (Origami Spirit, Leyla Torres) to find Laura Kruskal's
Chain and Swan Candy Dish.

Also look for Laura Kruskal's Paper Wallet.

In the early issues of of the Convention manuals you will also find several
practical models.

For over 20 years I have been creating and teaching Origami Convention
Crowns, Action Models,
Letter Folds, Gift Boxes, Photo Frames Bon Bon Containers,,Turkeys for
Thanksgiving, Santa's Sled and Ornaments for Xmas, Flags for
Flag Day, Masks for Halloween, Hearts for Valentine's Day, etc.

On Sunday, December 4th, I and my paper folding colleague, Karen Reeds,
were on OrigamiUSA's online program, OrigamiConnect.
We taught my Super Duper Collapsible Gift Box. Since persons flying are
not permitted to wrap their gifts,
my visitors arrived at my home with their naked hostess gifts in their
hands, and apologized profusely -
explaining that as soon as they put their exquisitely wrapped gift on
the luggage belt, the security agent
unceremoniously tore off the gift wrap and the ribbons. In vain, they
tried to explain that there was nothing but
ladies' beauty products - perfume, shampoo, hand and face cream and a nail
file.

The security agent responded that all 5 items are used by terrorists to
make home made bombs.

The items were placed in the luggage department and later retrieved in New
Jersey.

I created my Super Duper Collapsible Gift Box to circumvent that
embarrassing situation. The easy modules pack flat and can be quickly
re-assembled on arrival into the large box and lid.

I would love to share my many models with you. Karen Reeds and I would be
delighted if you would like to
visit us in Princeton, New Jersey and share your origami repertoire with us.
