I had the same problem with
parent.query().direction(Direction.OUT).has("name", "child
name").vertices().iterator();
You can use this command
Iterable<Vertex> it=g.command(new OSQLSynchQuery<Vertex>("select from
(select expand(out()) from "+parent.getId()+") where name='child
name'")).execute();
