Job Title: PeopleSoft App Support & Development Analyst*(Techno Functional consultant)* Location: Hopkins, MN Duration: 6 month contract with possibility to extend.
Description: Contract PeopleSoft App Support and Development Analyst to mainly work on the back end of the application. This role is not for a heads down developer as interaction with the business and end users is required. This is a financial application so experience with financial processes is nice to have. The support and development analyst role will partner with the Financial Shared Service (FSS) organization to ensure applications will continue to enable the function's strategy, meet the day to day operational requirements, and is in compliance with Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Technology Governance Risk and Control (TGRC) guidelines. In this role, you will partner with NA ERP & Trading and other Global IT teams to deliver end to end services and to provide application support for our business partners and end users. This role will develop and support a variety of PeopleSoft based applications. The emphasis will be on PeopleCode, but this will consist of Summit, CAMS, and PeopleCode. The qualified candidate will be involved in projects of varying complexity and scope. This person will also frequently leverage services provided by internal and external technical resources. This position requires independent and original thinking to provide innovative technical solutions to meet business objectives for FSS. Application Development 40%: Utilize vendor supplied and industry standard technologies to develop and enhance business applications per business requirements. Analyze business requirements and create detailed technical specifications from which applications/programs will be written. Consult with BU, Platform and Function partners as well as other IT teams on application and integration architecture and design Collaborate with External Business Partners and/or software platform vendors on technical design and architecture Articulate design options and influence decisions Design solutions considering security, server capacity, performance, usability and data integrity Application Support 40%: Provide application support for existing Financial Shared Service (FSS) applications. Research problems independently using multiple resources. Perform break/fix analysis and programming for Summit and CAMS applications. Perform batch job scheduling and monitoring. Execute software maintenance of applications. Apply patches and upgrades to applications. Make decisions regarding operational and application corrections. Provide recommendations regarding procedures and deadlines. Other 20%: Provide leadership around new application technologies and proposed IT solutions. Maintain project timekeeping and technical documentation per standards. Work with IT teams to improve work processes and identify cost saving opportunities. Communicate technical concepts to business partners in a clear and meaningful way. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience Experience Participate in "on-call” rotation. (Required) Limited Travel (occasional conference) 3 years of work experience in an IT function in both a support and development role 3 years successfully working as application designer and developer or related experience on medium to large scale projects 3 years of experience using SQL Proven record of interacting with multiple business units and functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate technical and business information effectively to both technical and non-technical people PeopleSoft Developer – Proficient with Application Designer, Familiar with PeopleCode, Proficient with creating Fields, Records, Pages, Components SQL – Be able to run SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE statements, Troubleshoot WHERE Clause data logic, Does not need to be able to Tune SQL since DBA should be available for that. Skills PeopleSoft development/support experience Ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently Excellent organizational skills with proven, dependable follow-through Must be able to communicate effectively with business peers, IT peers, and suppliers to identify technology solutions Experience using PeopleSoft version 8.8 or higher Experience with PeopleSoft Integration Tools (Integration Broker, Component Interface) Experience using the following PeopleSoft tools: SQR, People Tools, Application Engine version 4.9 or higher Ability to troubleshoot new applications/technologies with little direction Preferred Experience 3 years developing inbound and outbound trading partner interfaces.
