Job Description:*Location: Eastern Seaboard, USA – 1ST Project is in the
Carolinas for a Financial Institution*
*Duration: 6+ months (we prefer contract to hire)*
*Rate: DOE plus expenses when travel is required*

*Responsibilities for talented and motivated Cassandra Database
Administrator/Architect:*

   - You will work closely with development teams to design, implement and
   support our customer’s data storage and reporting systems.
   - The Cassandra Database Administrator (DBA) will have passion for Big
   Data and databases, and bring relational and non-relational (NoSQL)
   expertise to help us build top shelf products and services.
   - As a Cassandra Database Admin/Architect (DBA), and key member of the
   team, you will get the opportunity to mentor colleagues and development
   staff, and work in-depth with cutting-edge technologies.


*Technology Skills/ Requirements:*

   - Minimum 3 years working with Cassandra and Big Data databases
   - Expertise in Cassandra administration in a production environment
   - In depth knowledge of architecting and creating Cassandra database
   systems.
   - Knowledge of Cassandra systems including but not limited to: backup
   and recovery, security and maintenance and tuning on both server and
   database
   - Must have hands-on NoSQL experience from evaluation of new frameworks
   to deployment, maintenance, and performance tuning of clusters with at
   least 2 digit size
   - Proficient with Hadoop, Elastic Search and Redis is a big plus
   - Solid understanding of NoSQL landscape, available frameworks and CAP
   theorem
   - Strong knowledge of how NoSQL technologies interact and complement
   each other but also their limits
   - Deep understanding of internals of NoSQL frameworks and the ability to
   build any NoSQL opensource framework from source
   - Solid understanding of migration protocols between relational and
   Cassandra databases.
   - Sound knowledge of implemented application systems
   - Experience in code migration, database change management and data
   management through the various stages of the development life cycle
   - Delivering technology training classes
   - MUST HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS
