Working independently within guidelines, leads the design and
implementation of complex logical data models and practices for data
capture, data dictionary design and overall data integrity. Directs
quality control and auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use of
data. Works with other subject matter experts to develop data storage
strategies to support company needs. Enforces data definition
standards, architectures and policies. Administers and manages data
definitions within data repository. Designs and provides support of
data modeling for mainframe, client server, or web systems development.
Maintains data dictionaries and resolves problems. Extensive creativity
required across areas of expertise. A high proficiency level in
specific job related skills is required. Bachelor's Degree in related
field preferred. Minimum five (5) years related experience preferred.
*SYBASE/SQL SERVER DBA Responsibilities:*
Sybase Adaptive Server and Replication Server administration. Microsoft
SQL Server 2008 database administration. Database Administrator will
provide support for all areas (Installation, Upgrade, Backup, Recovery,
Code Deployments, Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning, etc.). Should
be knowledgeable about the new features in the latest release of
database software. Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure
optimal performance, availability and security. Assist with complex
queries and has the ability to tune queries to optimize performance.
Deploy database changes to production and non production environments.
Assists project teams in identifying requirements and cost implications.
Customer focused and strong team player. Candidates should be able to
work independently under tight deadlines with changing goals and
priorities. Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
*Required Experience: *
* 5+ years SAP Sybase Adaptive Server and Replication Server
administration
* 2+ years MS SQL Server administration
* AIX, Linux, Windows Server
*
* Backup and Recovery, BCP
* Security
* Development, QA and Production support
* Production on-call support
* Experience with large databases (1+ TB)
* Database and query tuning
* Unix shell scripting
*Must Have:*
* Extensive experience in Sybase ASE and Replication Server administration
* Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 administration
*Nice To Have:*
* MS SQL Server Replication
* Experience in healthcare industry
* Experience with Facets database
* Data modeling experience
* Bradmark Surveillance
