*Job title*: *Sr. Java Developer* Duration: 6 Months Location: Chicago, IL Rate: $ 45/hr on C2C Details This opportunity is for a software engineer to develop and support complex systems on the Front-End Systems team. We are looking for candidates with an interest and passion in the delivery of technical and complex applications, an ability to learn quickly, and manage multiple projects in parallel. The applicant should be able to manage day to day development activities, be highly motivated to learn new technology and design patterns, be able to complete assignments under limited supervision, and help troubleshoot production issues both during and outside of traditional work hours. The candidate should be very hands on (Java technologies). Strong communication skills are required to communicate status and timelines and produce the required deliverables by our software methodology. Responsibilities include: • Application is concurrent, low latency, real time data feed. • No application servers are used. • Analyzing user requirements to document specifications as defined by client's standard methodology • Participating in design discussions and helping to create architecture/design artifacts • Analyzing existing applications to identify improvement opportunities • Coding and testing components • Helping to identify internal and external best practices • Supporting QA,/Certification, and Production environments Required: • 2-4 years of software engineering experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field • Strong core Java, UNIX, and SQL skills • SDLC knowledge and comfort working in a process-oriented environment • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Great interest and ability to work in a collegial and teamwork oriented environment *Preferred:* • TIBCO, JMS messaging technology experience • Financial industry experience • FIX messaging protocol • Spring • Maven • ClearCase / ClearQuest • Test driven development (TDD) / test oriented development *Secondary Skills:* Description: Not looking for a senior, about 4 yrs exp. ok but technically very sound. Financial exp a winner.
