The SAN Engineer role is to design and implement in-house data storage
systems that support Omgeo Services and assure their high availability.  In
addition, the SAN Engineer role is to operate and performance-tune storage
platforms across the organization to ensure high levels of data quality,
availability, and security.  This individual also participates in the
planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure storage
provisioning, efficiency, and maintenance that is consistent with company
goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

   - Provision storage to multiple host environments and perform storage
   migrations
   - Work effectively as a team member in a fast paced, dynamic,
   deadline-driven environment; must be able to multi-task.
   - Respond to, identify, isolate and resolve issues related to the
   Storage environment to include software and hardware upgrades when required
   - Assist in the analyzing, tuning and configuring of SAN storage to
   perform optimally. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
   - Review and provide Solution Implementation Plans
   - Project related responsibilities include but are not limited to:
   - Estimating engineering effort, drafting project plans, system and
   Storage design specs, participating in technical reviews, updating
   Infrastructure documentation.
   - Foster teamwork among staff, peers and cross-functional teams.
   - Work closely with the Architecture and Design team to provide input to
   new technology strategies.
   - Work closely with Peers to improve workflow processes & communication
   - Responsible for Infrastructure Support (3rd Level) for:
   - SAN infrastructure, Servers – Solaris on Oracle SPARC, Linux on X86
   systems, VMWare
   - Storage Arrays – EMC VMAX , VNX, Clariion
   - SAN –Cisco MDS Fabric switches
   - Performance Tuning and Capacity planning for SAN Infrastructure
   - Monitoring and reporting on SAN Infrastructure

*Experience*

   - 10+ years overall expected with 5+ years’ work as a SAN Engineer in a
   technical lead position.
   - Experience in a medium-large scale storage environment
   (multi-terabyte, multi-state corporation preferred)
   - A strong engineering educational background is preferred.
   - Multiyear experience with EMC:  Storage Arrays and Software – VMAX
   Series, VNX Series, Clariion, , EMC Control Center/ProSphere, SRDF,
   Timefinder, Optimizer, Enginuity

·         Multiyear experience with Solaris on Oracle servers, Oracle VM
for SPARC, VMWare

·         Multiyear experience with Linux

·         Ability to lead junior members of the team with very little input
from upper management.

·         Expected to learn and enforce existing processes as quickly as
possible.
