POSITION SUMMARY (Database developer) The successful candidate will provide database development expertise for a critical group within the organization. The individual will be responsible for database-related aspects of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, coding and debugging, unit-testing, and maintenance. The individual will demonstrate proficiency in developing custom database queries of varying complexity, which scale effectively in a high-throughput, OLTP environment. This candidate should also have hands-on experience in Java and ORM preferably Hibernate. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS BS or MS in Computer Science or related experience 5-7 years of experience of database design and development with a relational database management system such as Oracle, MS SQL Server 2-3 years’ experience with Java and 2 -3 years’ experience with Perl (or a comparable scripting language) Solid understanding of fundamental relational database concepts Working knowledge of ORM technologies preferably Hibernate Competence in employing sound software engineering practices Experience writing tools to manage database migration to support multiple versions is a plus.
