*Job Description:*
Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of
resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate
complexity. Participates in network planning, network architecture design
and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication
architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling
links and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluates new
products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the
development and documentation of technical standards and interface
applications. Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and
makes recommendations for improvement
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
STORAGE, VIRTUALIZATION, AND DATA CENTER ADMINISTRATION
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
· WORKS UNDER LIMITED SUPERVISION TO ADMINISTER DAY TO DAY DATA CENTER
SOFTWARE VIRTUALIZATION AND MANAGE SERVER STORAGE HARDWARE.
· ANALYZE AGENCY STORAGE CAPACITY NEEDS, AS REQUIRED, AND LEADS IN THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF SPECIFICATIONS TO MEET THOSE NEEDS;
· DEVELOPS WEB APPLICATIONS TO MEET USER REQUIREMENTS;
· MONITOR VIRTUAL SERVERS, TROUBLESHOOT, AND PERFORM ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AS
NEEDED
· ASSISTS IN DATA BACKUP TASKS, MONITORING, TESTING AND RECOVERY
· ASSIST ;
· MAXIMIZE VIRTUAL STORAGE UTILIZATION USING STORAGE MANAGEMENT BEST
PRACTICE;
· SUPPORTS AND ADHERES TO CHANGE MANAGEMENT PROCESS
· AWARENESS OF INFRASTRUCTURE-BASED PROCESSES; I.E. HIGH AVAILABILITY,
DISASTER RECOVERY, PERFORMANCE TUNING
· IDENTIFIES RISKS AND COMMUNICATES RISKS TO THE IT DIRECTOR AND IT TEAM;
· DEVELOPS TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION FOLLOWING AGENCY STANDARDS;
REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
• SKILLED IN VMWARE ESXI 5.x/6x ADMINISTRATION, SUPPORT, BACKUP, AND
RECOVERY.
· SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IN NETAPP ENTERPRISE STORAGE AND
· SKILLED IN HP BLADE SERVER MANAGEMENT
• CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF CITRIX LOAD
BALANCING FOR HIGH AVAILABILITY OPERATIONS
• ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE IT TEAM, PROJECT STAFF, AND VENDOR
PARTNERS.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE OR BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR TECHNICAL INSTITUTE
DEGREE/CERTIFICATE OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE.
CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred, not required
VCP (VMware Certified Professional).
NCDA/NCIE (NetApp Certified Data
Management Administrator/NetApp Certified
Implementation Engineer)
