Role Description: The BI/ETL/Cognos/Data Warehouse tester will need to have a minimum of 5-7 years of professional work experience within the IT field and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BI projects. Required Skills: * Candidate must possess working knowledge of IBM DataStage or equivalent ETL tools. *Candidate must possess working knowledge of Cognos BI Reporting tools or equivalent Reporting tools. *Strong SQL skills and should be able to write SQL to compare and reconcile source and target databases. * Strong Unix skills – should be able to navigate in Unix environment, understand and write shell scripts for test automation *Strong hands-on skills in developing of test scripts for Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) Routines in the data warehousing environment. *Experience in conducting test planning and test case execution on Reports and Dashboards in the Cognos BI environment. * Experience with Test Automation and Performance Tools. * Must have demonstrated skills in translating relevant Business/Functional Requirements to Develop, Validate, and Implement test plans and test cases *Experience in defect tracking and management using defect tracking tools * Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies *Strong data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities * Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or equivalent work experience.
