Java Applications technical support requirement (Java, Oracle, Spring - Boston, MA. The duration is for 6 months. Responsible for providing Application Support and Development for different internal web applications and public web sites managed by SSgA Interactive. This includes production issues, handling service requests, enhancements, development, infrastructure checkout and any weekend support if required. Candidate needs to have good problem solving skills and effectively troubleshoot the technical issues for resolution. Expected to provide support during weekend infrastructure maintenance activity as need arises through rotation among team members. This is an Application Technical Support position. There will be some new development opportunities involved but the primary responsibilities will be to support existing applications. A good knowledge of all development tiers (front end, middle, back end) and Web Infrastructure software (WebLogic/JBoss). Top Three technical skill sets: 1. Java/J2EE 2. Oracle 3. Spring/Hibernate •8 + Years of experience in software development and support role. •BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree desired. •Extensive knowledge of development/web technologies including JavaEE (EJB, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JMS), JSF, Spring, Hibernate, XML, HTML, JavaScript and OOD. •Experience with BEA WebLogic Application Server, JBoss and Oracle DB. •Experience with Unix, configuration management and build tools (make, Apache Ant). •Strong technical background. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. •Self motivated in learning application functionality and apply technical knowledge in mitigating incidents and contribute in adding stability to the product.
