Duration: 9+ months and likely extensions. *F2F required* . *Need someone local or around MN* Description: CLOUD ENGINEER Using the Agile methodology you will be helping us build new tools and write code that will help automate build and deployment of next-gen cloud infrastructure for Target.com. Because we are building tools and writing code which will power Target.com, you will be extremely focused on test driven development, iterating heavily on performance and stability based metrics and hence willing to throw a bad idea or implementation over the fence and start over. You will be comfortable trailblazing new paths unknown and not having references from the past to look at - you'll be dealing with languages like Ruby, JavaScript, bash/shell scripting & networking, TCP/IP, DNS and SSL and cloud native concepts like cloud formation and IaaS API’s . Write, develop and unit test software and participates with design or build, test and implement infrastructure components that meet the needs of the design specifications. Identifies and escalates issues that impact project performance. Adheres to standards and best practices, processes, and deliverable. Participates in physical design and development of software or hardware products. Communication & Relationship Mgmt. Minimum of 3 years experience. Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs as required by your domain. Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain. (Infrastructure). Maintains deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise. Possesses a strong understanding of systems programming, graphical user interfaces and control languages. • Develop Ruby code that results in Gems or Chef Cookbooks that can be used to automate infrastructure builds and code deployments • Develop workflows using Jenkins, Github and a variety of plugin’s to enable Test Driven Development of Infrastructure • Work to enable continuous deployment and integration • Enable testing of infrastructure code using tools like KitchenCI, Cucumber, food critic, ChefSpec, ServerSpec, rspec etc. • Learn & learn.
