*Job Title : ETL Architect Location : Columbus, OH Duration : 12 Months Rate : $60/Hr* Broad technical skills and architectural expertise in distributed technologies including Data Warehouse platforms such as Teradata, Netezza and Oracle. Expertise in ETL technologies such as Informatica, Master Data Management and Meta Data Management. Knowledge of Java, Websphere, Perl, Unix and SQL Leadership skills such as: taking accountability for all technical issues, timely decision making, leading a small team of developers to develop pragmatic solutions, engaging team members to actively participate in architecture and design working sessions, providing mentoring to the development team and communicating technical information to the business team in easy to understand terminology. Business acumen to understand Financial Services (Annuities, Life Policies, Retirement Plans) including the business model, key drivers of the business. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Works directly with the Reporting and Data Services data services organization and the data quality organization. Develops overall architecture approach for all layers of a solution. Coordinates user needs with department and system capability. Manages projects through implementation to ensure successful completion. Assesses infrastructures and applications and recommend solutions for upgrading the infrastructure and application to meet business needs. Conducts the investigation, planning, coordination, and preparation of feasibility studies relative to new computer-based systems and modifications to existing systems. Evaluates systems proposals from an architectural perspective, including feasibility, practicality, technical viability, and consistency. Understands, uses, and articulates reference architecture. Understands, uses, and articulates solution delivery framework. Sets agenda and establishes priorities for self and team. Attends industry conferences and monitors industry publications and electronic information and develops communications that interpret the impact of events to technology direction. Monitors industry trends to ensure the technology architecture is current with industry standards and new technology implementation. Acts as a subject-matter expert in a particular domain or solution. Serves as consultant to senior management and senior IT staff on IT programs and long-term systems strategies. Participates in technology strategy direction with the OCTO Through consultation, influences development of technical architecture and specifications for internal systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Mentor and coach associates on the systems. Evaluate all data failures to determine root cause and direct the modification of the data flows to either to eliminate or mitigate the cause of the failure. Assist Solution architect in development and maintaing long term direction of applications. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Undergraduate degree in areas related to Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Mathematics preferred. Experience: Eight years minimum experience in Information Technology field. Knowledge: Must have proven knowledge in information technology architecture components, principles, procedures and practices. Must have proven knowledge in information design, controls and audit methodology for business systems and data processing environments including data asset classification, data exchange packages definition, naming standards, data modeling, data interoperability standards and data governance. Must have a broad knowledge in information technology trends. Must have a detailed familiarity with applicable operating systems. Must have an in-depth understanding in insurance and financial services business models and operations. Proven knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required. Skills/Competencies: Must have demonstrated expertise in systems analysis, design and computer programming, including current technologies. Working knowledge of the software development cycle. Knowledge of relational databases required. Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required. Understanding of customer business environment. Proven leadership skills with the ability to work with technical teams including virtual teams. Must have the ability to work with technology vendors in the delivery of project solutions. Must have a breadth of understanding of technology and IT market trends. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to make decisions and recommendations on technology strategies.
