Folks,

Zoom has made changes that require a passcode in the meeting invite links.
This means all standing meetings need to re-generate the links and refresh
the meeting invites. See the details below - contact me if you have any
questions.

Jim

What this means to us as an open source community:

   - In the big scheme of things very little since all of our meetings are
already open to anyone. From that perspective publishing a passcode
publicly is no different than the way publishing a Zoom meeting ID as we
are today without a passcode. Primarily it is just an annoyance because we
need to take action that doesn’t provide us with any value.

The actions I’m taking today for all of the ONAP Zoom accounts:

   - Updating to require a passcode when scheduling *new* meetings.
   - Updating to include embed the passcode for one-click join when
   scheduling *new* meetings.
   - Updating to allow non-authenticated users to join. – *This reverses a
decision made earlier in the year as recent changes instituted in certain
geographies now block free Zoom accounts. Just letting y’all know this as
an FYI. You will still need to login as the meeting host to start a call.*

The three actions *YOU* need to take prior to Sept. 27 for each meeting
series you manage:

   1. Update your meeting via the Zoom web interface
   - Log in to the OPNFV Zoom account for your meeting.
   - Find your meeting and go into edit all occurrences. (*this is a good
time to verify and update the recurring end date for your meeting.*)
   - Scroll down to the security section and check the passcode box.
   - Scroll down to the bottom and click Save.

   1. Update the invitation for your meeting in groups.io
   - Copy the new meeting URL that was just generated which should now
include the passcode and paste it into the location field.
   - Copy everything between “*Join Zoom Meeting*” through “*Find your
local number*” and paste it into the description field.
   - Click the update event and group button
   - Click the All events button

   1. Update any relevant meeting landing pages with the new URL and
   passcode.
   - If your meeting is listed on a web page, please update the static link.

If you don’t take these steps before Sept 27, you could find the community
unable to join your meeting.
