Folks, We held a brain storming session about the CNTT requirements to start thinking about what transformations OPNFV might need to make to deliver reference implementations. I'd like to continue this discussion in some additional meetings that I'll schedule. Below are the notes from our first brain-storming session. We can walk through this list and the expanded list in future tech-discuss/TSC meetings. Thanks, Jim -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Discussion Sept 4th Attendees: Jonathan Beltran, Fu Qiao, Brain-storm what CNTT delivery of reference implementations (rel 1) requirements? (State as assumptions) - 6-8 reference implementations (RM has 3 flavors) - VNF suppliers will want to qualify on 2 reference implementations - LaaS RIs simultaneously active - 9 nodes/RI (minimal) -- NEED SCOPING - Need a phasing of VNFs to understand the resource needs - Cookbook for bare metal to performance qualified NFVI - Current OPNFV release docs maybe sufficient - Detailed instructions from commercial vendor - Operational readiness - Eg. Testing of RI to 96 hours of continuous operation under load - Release communications, patch announcements, etc. - Support needs - CVE implemented in RI 60 days from disclosure - Industry standard - Interoperability guide - Health-checks for system monitoring (Mike Fix working on table to define this) - Complete manifest of all components, respective licenses, and version levels - Run book for system operation - How to run health checks - VNF onboarding guide and other scenarios - CI - current OPNFV CI can meet all the requirements for RI? - Support life of RI version 1 - 1 year? - Frequency of updates - refresh every 3 or 6 mo. -- Jim Baker Linux Foundation Networking - Technical Program Manager mobile: +1 970 227 6007
