Hello:
I run into the following problems with NFVbench:
- negative drop rates in NDR/PDR mode:
When using nfvbench in ndr_pdr mode with a single OpenStack PVP chain, I
sometimes see negative drop rates during the iterations of the NDR/PDR
binary search which might result in a final summary reporting a negative
drop rate (see traces below).
I haven't found so far any source of parasitic traffic in the OpenStack +
switch infrastructure that might explain why RX>TX.
What is strange is that as nfvbench increases the TX rate, there is a
tipping point when the drop rate suddenly becomes negative.
Could the problem come from nfvbench (and could be alleviated by changing
some of its timing parameters ?) or do you think there a problem in my
infrastructure independent from trex+nfvbench?
- the NDR/PDR mode does not work as expected when the traffic is
unidirectional (0% drop)
- the timer for spawning a VM is sometimes too short: is it
configurable ?
