Hello community and TSC,
According to TSC discussion on August 15th, I was requested to update the
committer list of IPv6 project. We identified that three of our current
committers, who have made great contributions in the past, have not been active
for quite long time, i.e. more than six months. Based on further communication
(or attempted contact) with those 3 committers, and our current practice of
Maintenance of Committer
List<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/DEV/Committer+Removal>, it is suggested
that the following three persons be removed from committer list of IPv6 project:
- Mark Medina
(mmed...@clearpathnet.com<mailto:mmed...@clearpathnet.com>): voluntarily
resigned. See attached email.
o Mark was a founding committer, and has been instrumental in designing the
use case and architecture of using service VM as an IPv6 vRouter.
- Jonne Soininen
(jonne.soini...@nokia.com<mailto:jonne.soini...@nokia.com>): voluntarily
resigned. See attached email.
o Jonne was a founding committer, and has brought extensive expertise of IPv6
technology to the project, which was essential to the success of IPv6 project.
- Tom Nadeau (tnad...@brocade.com<mailto:tnad...@brocade.com>): has
been contacted 3 times, and no luck to get response. See attached email.
o Tom was a founding committer, and has participated in and contributed to
many discussions at early stage.
I was asked to communicate above information to the community.
On behalf of IPv6 team, I sincerely appreciate their significant contributions
in the past. I wish them all the best in their new adventure, and hope that
they will be able to get back to IPv6 project someday in the future if their
time and role permit.
Please let me know if there is any question.
Thanks
Bin

Tom,
Good morning and how are you? Trying my 3rd attempt to contact you.
Thank you for your participation in and contribution to OPNFV IPv6 project in
the past.
Since you haven't been active in this OPNFV IPv6 project for quite a while (at
least more than 6 months), just try to see if you plan to continue to be a
committer?
I know your job change and role change. If you do not plan to contribute to
OPNFV IPv6 in a committer capacity, appreciate if you can voluntarily resign
from committer role of OPNFV IPv6.
Thank you
Bin

Bin,
Sorry for the late response. Yes I voluntarily resign as a committer to the
OPNFV IPv6. Things have changed quite a bit from the last time we spoke.
I hope all the best to you and the rest of the team.
Best regards,
-Mark

I know there have been lots of changes in the past years, such as job change
and role change. If you do not plan to contribute to OPNFV IPv6 in a committer
capacity, appreciate if you can voluntarily resign from committer role of OPNFV
IPv6.
Thank you

Hi Bin,
I’m fine. How are you? We didn’t have much time to talk in the OPNFV summit
couple of months ago.
Anyways, I think you would do the right thing to remove me from the committers.
It really seems that I don’t have personally time to contribute at the moment.
When I can get back to the IPv6 contribution, I can always contribute as a
member of the project.
Sorry for being missing in action!
Cheers,
Jonne.
