FYI: one source of the "opinion" on metrics and potential open source solutions focusing on the NFV use cases is monitoring framework [1], which was a deliverable of t-nova project WP4 [2]. Obviously, there is also nearly endless set of potentially relevant metric specs from standards organizations, such as DMTF, IETF, ETSI etc. that could/should be considered here, but that is a separate topic.
