Also discussed on the TSC call was that this will also affect the number of TSC members required for a quorum. As we have in the past had a number of TSC calls where we barely reached a quorum, the issue was raised that we need to ensure the committer-at-large TSC members have an alternate for when they can't make the TSC calls.
Open to proposals on how this should work, we could just leave it up to the Committer-At-Large members to designate and alternate or we could have a more formal alternate clearly identified on a standing basis. I have attempted to update the WiKi to reflect what I understood to be the proposed method for achieving a predictable and fair result. Two main changes include: Clarifying the Condorcet method for collective votes would be used (as this provides a clearly ordered list of results) for the voting. “A condorcet poll will be open for one full week, from the 21st day after announcing the election until the 28th day at which point results will be sent to opnfv-tech-discuss and posted on the wiki.” Adding the method for selecting TSC members form the results. I made this a little open ended as there may be other reasons that membership affiliation that cause a successful nominee to be unable to assume the role. “TSC members will be selected from the list starting with the most successful candidate. In the case a successful candidate is not able to assume the role, this may be due to TSC constituency limitations<https://www.opnfv.org/developers/technical-project-governance/tsc-charter> on member affiliation, the next most successful candidate will be selected.” The wiki has been upadated with these changes and you can view the procedure in it’s entirety here: https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/DEV/Community+Election+Procedure Your feedback, comments and input are all welcome and desired on this procedure. I’ll bring this up for discussion on the next TSC call as discussed yesterday but wanted to ensure there was sufficient time to read and comment on the lists. Regards, Chris
