Hi Pamuditha, It is absolutely possible to include the OSM upstream project in OPNFV. This is why we are here, to work with upstream projects and create a common venue for the integration and validation (maybe even eventual alignment) of solutions.
We have recently had our first integration project for a MANO stack proposed (OPNFV-OPEN-O<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/PROJ/OPNFV-OPEN-O>) which is great. Having a project providing an integration of OSM would of course be highly valuable. Are you interested in establishing such a project, or in participating in it if/when proposed?
