I think I tried that and it didn't respond even to ping of 192.168.1.1.
I' ll try again and see. Should I try to connect (telnet) from one of
the four lan (ethernet) ports of the WRT54GL, or from the WAN ethernet side?

That's what I'll do, if I can make it and telnet into it ...

I don't want to keep the config. I just want to gain back control of the
router (WRT54GL).
