The plot thickens. I used to have a situation like this:
1.) client(WDS)
----wifi----
2.) ap(WDS) bridged to client(WDS)
----wifi----
3.) ap(WDS)
So I figured that if the machine in the middle works as an AP for one client it
can work as as two AP's for 2 clients. This is not true. Now I have
1.) client(WDS)
----wifi----
2.) ap(WDS) bridged to ap(WDS)
----wifi----
3.) client(WDS)
and the "deauthenticated due to local deauth requests" log messaged have moved
from the client on the right hand side to the ap in the middle. In case the
above isn't clear: I have link between 1 and 2 but not between 2 and 3.
/etc/config/wireless on (2) looks like this:
config 'wifi-device' 'wifi0'
option 'type' 'atheros'
option 'macaddr' '00:0c:42:39:68:92'
option 'disabled' '0'
option 'hwmode' '11a'
option 'diversity' '0'
option 'channel' '60'
config 'wifi-iface'
option 'device' 'wifi0'
option 'network' 'wan'
option 'encryption' 'psk2'
option 'ssid' 'HKN-Salandra'
option 'key' 'password'
option 'mode' 'ap'
option 'bssid' '00:0c:42:68:e1:ce'
option 'wds' '1'
config 'wifi-device' 'wifi1'
option 'type' 'atheros'
option 'macaddr' '00:0c:42:69:18:3b'
option 'disabled' '0'
option 'hwmode' '11a'
option 'diversity' '0'
option 'channel' '56'
config 'wifi-iface'
option 'device' 'wifi1'
option 'network' 'wan'
option 'encryption' 'psk2'
option 'ssid' 'HKN-Koppie'
option 'key' 'password'
option 'mode' 'ap'
option 'bssid' '00:0c:42:69:18:41'
option 'wds' '1'
A snippet from the system log, showing that ath1 is fine but ath0 is not:

How on earth is this possible?
