question (I received no reply, I wonder if the message got through in
the first place), and then via a bug report once I saw no reply
through the list.
The replies through the bug report lead me to believe that there was
not an appetite to revert to a proper router capability as in OpenWrt.
Previously I had not totally positive experiences when I reported
issues, or contributed changes (like IP Virtual Server Load balancer:
I still apply my patches and build my own version because the change
was never accepted in OpenWRT, or BtHomeHub5 LEDs no longer working,
on that I was told "it is by design"). So I expressed my frustration,
dusted off OpenWrt trunk and now I am running Designated Driver 50078
built with IP Virtual Server for Load Balancing on my Netgear router
(also manually reconfigured with a 128MB flash filesystem because the
patch to make it so large was never included in the mainstream)
Please note that I make little distinction between OpenWrt and LEDE.
I understand any conversation about free, etc. I am very grateful. I
would be happy to contribute if it somebody could accept an hand over
of the Load Balancer project.

Yes, the bug is reported[0] and it's being worked on. No idea why
Mauro is that eager.
Time between providing the full config files and a proposed fix was
<2h. And as usual everything for free.
