[1] seems to be MIFI-F5, AU$11.93, [2] seems to be HAME MPR-A1, $10.94; MPR-A1 seems to be just about $0.135 more "costly". >> I doubt >> they really have a 1800mAh battery inside but at least some battery is a >> nice bonus. > > They do! Well, one can relatively easily "debrick" by flashing directly to the serial chip with some external device such as ftdi board or raspberrypi. >> OTOH MPR-A1 has just 16M RAM while my MIFI came with 32M, so I would >> recommend double-checking with the seller the actual amount of RAM >> before buying (16M is certainly considered not enough for full OpenWrt >> experience). > > Today, 32MB SDRAM is mandatory if you want to do something useful with > a router (including having a Luci web admin). Are you really sure that's the case? What problems will I get if I make my home router use only 16M memory? Will it have issues conntracking/natting 100 TCP connections? Anything else I might be missing? And I personally do not consider running LuCI on my router useful, I see no real advantages in this control method. >> The image for MPR-A1 works nicely on this board so there's no sense >> adding it separately. > > What about the GPIOs? Tested LEDs and the button, work as expected.
