From my past experience with the AR9331, can you try with both a
self-powered and bus-powered _high-speed_ (enumerated as such in the
logs) USB hub and/or with WiFi turned off?

The log shows dwc_otg, so i am guessing he is on lantiq or ralink
hardware. however i do agree, that this smells like a usb power issue.
