A few days after you posted this patch series, you posted a patch to power
down unconnected ports to save power on the Carambola.

I suddenly thought of something. Would it be a good idea to have the
possibility to shut down a PHY from the swconfig interface? Perhaps with

# swconfig dev rtl8366rb port 0 set adv down

This way people can save a bit of power on ports that do exist, but are
unconnected in their specific configuration.
