Hi!
Pieter Voorthuijsen did some work to support Netgear DGN3500 in
OpenWRT. I would like to try a bit but the wiki page for this device is
a bit scarce:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/dgn3500b
Could someone explain how the serial port is wired? I have found this
photo:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/104120246985218478488/albums/5689759450555999777/5689760038213664194
Is it accurate? If someone can confirm, I will update the wiki with this
information.
Now, about flashing, the wiki only says how to boot from tftp. Cannot
the image be flashed through uboot? I have also found the following
thread that explain an alternative (but untested?) method:
http://patchwork.midlink.org/patch/2174/
Are there some other interesting bits on this matter? Can I just flash
the image from uboot?
Thanks!
Hi,
the photo isn't really correct, the correct pinout is
GND TX 3,3V RX
You can't flash anything at the moment, as I know.
You can choose tar.gz target and untar in an ext3 usb stick and in uboot
load the kernel from tftp and boot rootfs from usb.
Spi driver need to be improved in order to use the flash safely,I had
several data corruptions on a jffs2 partition test
