you are not the only one working on such a project. ;-) I tried to port the samba patches for 3.3.9 from avm to OpenWrt see https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/8326 , but I do not have time to work on that project feel free to continue. There are also some people working with version 3.6 in this ticket: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/9992 My preferred way would be to add samba 3.6 in addition to 3.0 into an other package as I do not think we get 3.6 as small as 3.0. Hauke I also prefer the 3.6 Samba version. I don't care for size since I'm installing Samba on extroot.
