AFAIK, Switch and ethernet drivers got build up embedded in kernel instead of
being a separate ".ko" modules.

That is right, as soon as you select the "D-Link DIR-825 rev. B1" as the target
profile the correct default settings for the kernel build would be selected
automatically.
