Folks,
The document found
here...https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/OpenVPN-GUI-New
seems to imply that most of the traditional Registry Entries that could
be used to configure the behavior of the the OpenVPN-GUI tool are
ignored/deprecated?
Maybe I'm reading it wrong and they are just saying the command line
overrides are gone? and just the core OpenVPN reg items themselves are used?
In either event is there definitive list of control entries for the 2.4
base.
Also the above document (and my experience) shows that GUI searches the
C:/Program Files/OpenVPN and /Users/xxxx/OpenVPN directory structure?
However I'm seeing that basically any .ovpn file in /Users/xxx and under
are getting found. Seems almost like a bug?
Issue I have is user is provided a config file with embedded certs. They
download it. GUI will in fact pick it up and can be used with
"Importing" it, but then there are two such files found in /Users/xxx
and below. I get that the "Import" function makes a nice clean directory
structure under the Users OpenVPN folder but then they end up with two
entries in the GUI menu...seems to lead to user confusion, ie GUI
complains that there are two files with same name etc. I've confirmed
this by putting a test-home.ovpn , test-downloads.ovpn file in the Users
Downloads and Home Folder and I end up with test, test-home,
test-downloads menu items in the GUI.
Am I missing something big here?
Thank you
Colin
