I haven't dug deep into this post, just quickly skimmed it and saw it was
mostly about sndbuf and rcvbuf sizes.  As of OpenVPN 2.4.0, these buffer sizes
are by default the recommended/preferred OS values.  So these settings can
mostly be ignored these days and kept by default.  But if you find better
values than the OS defaults, please let us know so we can try to understand
that better.

I also have my doubts tun-mtu values will change so much to the better these
days; but mssfix might be more reasonable to add.  Whether 1360 is a good
value or not probably depends more in the links your users uses as well as
your internal network infrastructure - especially the network behind your VPN
server, exposed over the VPN.
