Sorry for not being explciit:
You have to use
--connect config1.ovpn
with config1 in the subdir as I wrote. The configs should be specified by
their filename only (not full path) and the GUI will look for them in the
config_dir or its immediate subdirs (only one level). The config_dir
defaults to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config unless you changed it in the
registry.
