This is off-topic. But I generally recommend NOT doing such installs as indicated above. I always cringe when I see such install routines. This is purely a security warning. Do not do this unless you ultimately trust the source of the script. Any scripts pulled down from the net should be reviewed before running them. If someone adds a 'rm -rf / &' inside such a script, you're in big trouble. Or it could install some code running a trojan on your system, or even just modify your SSH config and replace your root password with something else. Use your imagination, and you'll see that granting an unreviewed script root privileges is generally a bad idea. It is generally far better to get software through the standard package repositories of your distribution/OS. - -- kind regards, David Sommerseth -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iEYEARECAAYFAlTIzywACgkQDC186MBRfrrSWgCeNvjHmgKSMSe02n7FN/kMix8b RI0An1eAsXy8Rhp6j/RUsKf9IKoNKAMw =1rhb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dive into the World of Parallel Programming.
