I have a bridged VPN setup which works fine in most aspects. The one aspect it
doesn’t work 100% in is mDNS (Bonjour) discovery. I just want to rule out that
this in fact is not an OpenVPN issue but perhaps a Yosemite issue.

On the LAN behind the VPN (not the same as VPN server) resides a host running
Mavericks. This host is able to pickup my VPN connected Yosemite machine
without problems. However the Yosemite machine cannot pickup the Mavericks
machine. I do see the broadcast on tap0 on the VPN client (Yosemite) but
nothing seems to be registered. Looking at "discoveryutil mdnsregistrations”
show nothing of interest except a few entries on tap0, but none associated with
the Mavericks machine, only localhost stuff.

I know Yosemite changed from mDNSResponder to discoveryd which might have
introduced this bug? Or am I missing something, I find it weird that I do get
the broadcast but nothing is picked up. What is even more strange is that I
have seen it been connected a few times, so there is some randomness to it. Has
anyone else seen this issue or had issues with Bonjour and Yosemite?

Regards
Sebastian
